What is the RF input? Radio Frequency (RF), also called coaxial, includes the VHF/UHF and CABLE jacks. These input terminals transmit video and audio signals. They are used to connect an indoor/outdoor antenna or cable for cable TV service

Main Specifications of RF Connectors:
Impedance: Almost all RF connectors and cables are standardized to 50_impedance. The only exception is that 75_systems are commonly used for cable TV installation. It is also an important RF coaxial cable connector with matching cable characteristic impedance. If not, a discontinuity may be introduced and loss may result.
VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio): Ideally, it should be united. Good design and implementation can keep VSWR below 1.2 in the range of interest.
Frequency range: Most RF work now is in the range of 1 to 10 GHz, so the connector must have low loss in this area. For cases above 10 GHz - where there is a lot of work, and things are now in the 10 to 40 GHz range - there are newer connectors to choose from. They are expensive because the cable itself.
Insertion loss: This is connector loss in the frequency range of interest. Losses are usually 0.1 and 0.3 decibels. Determining how critical a watt (or fractional watt) is in most designs, even with such small losses, must be minimized and included in the link loss budget. It is especially important in low noise front-end when signal intensity and signal-to-noise ratio are low.
Operating Cycle: How many connection/disconnection cycles can the connection withstand and still meet its specifications? This is usually in 500 or 1000 cycles. Thread connectors, supplier-specified tightening moment is an important factor in maintaining performance and reliability.
Power: Power supply processing is determined by two resistance losses (heating) and insulation breakdown. Although even decades of design have focused on pre-processing dozens of watts, today's design community focuses on low-power devices, such as mobile phones, micro-cellular and nano-cellular base stations, video interfaces, RF and gadgets. These are in the sub-1W range, so the connector can be much smaller and its rated power is less constrained.
